Throughout the years of offering our SHE Leads and The Real Mom conferences, I have heard similar things over and over: I wish I had a network of women to encourage me and to be encouraged or I would love to sit at a round table with other communicators and pick each other’s brain. We are excited to announce that we are going to provide that for you this year through monthly Conversation with Jessie and other team members.
October Theme: Balancing Home & Ministry
You have been called to a ministry role with your church or community and you find it fulfilling? But you also know the importance of ministry within the home. That pull between home and ministry can be tricky for all ministry leaders. How do we find the balance? We don’t have all the answers, but our hope is to help you establish a healthy balance between home and work and understand there are different seasons within your calling .
Guest Speaker: Laura Sommons
Laura Sommons felt the call to speak to women some 20 years ago in her college speech class where she attended Clark Summit University . She is the youngest of four siblings where she grew up as a “PK”. Laura has a powerful testimony of what it means to be made in God’s image and battling the lies that the deceiver would have us all believe. She has been married to Shawn for the past 31 years and they have three beautiful daughters. Her newest title is that of ” Gigi”. She currently is on staff at her home church where she serves as the Women’s Ministry Leader. It is there that she leads in Bible studies, mentors, encourages, counsels, and most importantly loves. It is because of the love God has lavished on her that she has been able to pour that same love out on the lives of women she serves. She has been active in women’s ministry for over 15 years.
In 2016 God prompted her to begin a speaking ministry; Lavishly Loved Ministry. Based on Deuteronomy 7:9 her desire is first and foremost that women know Jesus as their personal savior, and that His grace is greater than all our sin, and that His love for us is for a thousand generations. She is currently finishing up her degree in Bible and Theology at Clarks Summit University, in Clarks Summit, Pa and will graduate in May of 2023. To learn more about Laura go to www.lavishlyloved.org
