Recently I received an encouraging email from a dear sister who attends Bible study with us at Hackman’s. It was just what I needed to ring in my discouraged ear. A Word of Encouragement!
This summer I have received many similar emails from women who are participating in our study, The Law of Love by Beth Moore.
“The Holy Spirit has truly been working in my life this past year, strengthening me in my faith, and helping me to have more compassion, patience and love. Today’s lesson, as you said before the class, was meaningful in so many ways. Thank you for sharing your faith, your knowledge of scripture, your love with all of us who have been blessed to participate in these lessons with you.” Bev
How often do we send off that email, that note or make a call to encourage someone? Yes, we “think them a note” so often, but we just don’t seem to be able to follow through with it. It’s amazing what a few minutes can do for another sister’s day and delight.
God’s word encourages us from Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 11 Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? 12 And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. God gave Moses – Aaron, Elijah – Elisha, Gideon – Purah, Naomi – Ruth, Paul – Timothy. They all needed encouragement. A word or an action increased their faith, their love or their devotion.
Who has God laid on your heart and have you thanked them recently?
Or He may be asking you to be the encourager, won’t you follow Him and brighten another persons day?
Blessing will rain down of your parched soul when you lift another up!
