We live in a culture that expects so much from everyone and everything. Some expect others to love them more, others want more shoes, more cloths, more money, more pleasure, more, more, more.
But do we expect more spiritually?
2015 is a year I want to live expecting more from God in my personal life with Him and for Him.
Do you?
I want to have an Ephesians 3:20 outlook – Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,
So, what does an “Eph 3:20 outlook” resemble?
For me, it means a time of reflection, a time of assessing my hours, my days and even my months. It’s not a New Year’s resolution, but a New Year commitment.
For some, it may be a commitment to meet with God on a daily basis or to expand that meeting time by ten minutes. It might be that you commit to read through the Bible this year, memorize a certain number of scriptures, start that Bible study with friends or commit to practicing what you read in your daily life.
For each of us it looks a little different, but the common thread should be to walk closer with Him, to live more deliberately for Him and desire More of Him.
The more territory we allow Christ to occupy in our hearts, the more effective His influence on what we say and do will be.
It is His power in us that allows us to live above circumstances, other’s opinions and our own expectations.
But, it is your choice!
Are you going to choose more?
Have you gotten to the place where you need more?
Take a quick assessment of your daily activities and the hours it takes to accomplish them. ( I mean everything from: sleep, devotions, cooking, laundry, cleaning, work hours, exercise, activities… you name it.)
Are there any hours left over?
We only have twenty-four hours in a day, one hundred and sixty-eight hours in a week. No more, no less.
Take those few left over hours and expect more from God with them.
Yes, expect more! But we must choose more. More of HIM!
He must become greater; I must become less.
