Have you ever been in the situation where you’re not sure where to read in your Bible? Well, I just finished reading through Acts and sat there pondering where to go next. For weeks, I felt God speaking into my heart to read Psalms. So, that is where I went this morning. After only reading the first Psalm, I wondered why I didn’t begin weeks earlier. “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers. (Psalm 1:2-3).”
What if we searched for God before we searched Google? What if we rendered our hearts rather than our internet search engine? Just saying……
There are times I have checked my phone, laptop or IPad prior to cracking open the Word of God and found I lost a half hour (okay, maybe an hour) doing nothing constructive. Why is it that we search Google some days before God? Just writing that sentence, I am totally convicted to do the opposite and search God first.
The Word of God is a hallmark of faith. Meditating day and night brings growth and spiritual well-being to us. It tells us in Joshua 1:8, by searching God and meditating on His Word, this is what will make your way prosperous and then you will have success.
Do you desire success in your marriage, parenting, friendships or business relations? Search no further than the Book of all wisdom and knowledge, the Bible. It will never misguide you, take you down the wrong path or “de-friend” you.
Please don’t mistake me, the internet is great when used for good. I have read many inspiring blogs, searched helpful websites, listened to inspiring songs and “liked” endless photos. But there are times it can take the place of spending the quality time we need to with God and His Word.
Maybe it is time we put the most sought out Book before signing onto the internet world. And get lost in the good Book!
