Just Do It!
This may be a saying you recognize from the shoe company Nike. But it goes much deeper and further back than just two decades ago.
In John 2, we read of the wedding at Cana, where Jesus’ mother approaches her son and tells Him, we have no wine.
Jesus response, My hour has not come.
Mary’s response to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, DO IT.”
Mary understood Jesus’ desire to keep his identity concealed and that she trusted His sense of timing.
What is Jesus asking of you? What is He calling you to? Are you trusting in His timing for your/His plans, your/His desires and your life?
While we entrust our lives to the One who was, who Is and the One to come, there are some things we should take heed to from Moses’ teachings in Deuteronomy 30:19-20 and Just Do It:
From Deuteronomy 30:19 – 20 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, 20 by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”
We need to Just Do it! There is no second guessing or questioning when God tells us what He requires from us: to act justly, love mercy and to walk humbly (Micah 6:8)
So what is stopping you from living fully for God, loving Him with your whole heart, obeying what He is asking of you? What ever it may be, hold fast to Him and Just DO IT!
Journeying with Him,
Jessie
