Are you facing something that seems bigger than you? Something that feels beyond your reach? Something you need to move forward with despite what others may think?
You say, “I can’t do it.” Yes, you can!
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (see Philippians 4:13). It is His power which mightily works within you (Colossians 1:29) that allows you to take the next step, even if it’s a baby step. Make the move. Obedience is up to you. Outcome is up to God!
At the end of what may seem impossible, there will be an opportunity to show His power working in you. Put your trust in God. He will not forsake those who seek Him (Psalm 9:10).
Nothing is too big for God!
Do not despise the small beginnings. Small beginnings are where it all starts. Small beginnings are where God births ideas for grander things to come. Neil Armstrong’s famous quote when stepping onto the moon for the first time has great depth, “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” You only need to focus on the first step and allow the steps that follow to turn into the leap. Be faithful with what is right in front of you and the next step will be revealed in His time. Your one act of obedience may not only impact those who walk with you, but a generation that follows.
2 Corinthians 3:5-6 is pure truth, “Not that we are adequate in ourselves so as to consider anything as having come from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God, who also made us adequate…”
It is His adequacy. His competence. His confidence that you can tap into. Therefore, whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might (see Ecclesiastes 9:10a).
God has kept you alive and given you opportunity for fruitful living. Yes, fruitful living! So, what are you going to do with it? Are you going to live your life to your fullest potential? Or are you going to settle for ease and comfort? Revelation 3:7 says, “These are the words of Him who is holy and true. . . What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open. . .” Aim to please God and not man. If you choose to trust God alone, you will end up right in the middle of what God has called you to for this specific time and place. “Behold, He will do something new, now it will spring forth; will you not be aware of it? He will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. ” (Isaiah 43:19)
What you do with the opportunities given to you is your gift back to God through your response, your action, and your commitment. Your reward is often on the other side of obedience. Lean into the unknown and watch God work.
I want you to stop for a moment and ask yourself these few questions.:
- Are you ready to take a risk?
- Do you see the value over “today” versus the mentality of an eventual “one day”?
- Does change energize you or paralyze you?
- Do you take responsibility for your life and decisions?
- Are you ready to finish what you started?
- Are you willing to do what others are not, even if that includes hard work?
Nothing is too big for God!
Commit your way to Him and allow Him to determine the time and place of blessing, you will watch Him do far more above and beyond what you could ever imagine or think according to the power working within you (Ephesians 3:20).
Yes, you already have this power if you have received Jesus’ love in your heart and confess Him as Lord! The Holy Spirit is a gift and has been entrusted to all who believe. You just have to access His power, step out in faith, and embrace the Holy Spirit as your friend and guide. Luke 11:13 tells us to ask for more of the Holy Spirit and your heavenly Father will give Him to you. Stepping out toward your calling will take a strength higher and stronger than yourself.
So, “Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He will do it. . .Rest in the Lord; wait patiently for Him to act.” (Psalm 37:4-7)
Journeying with Him,
Jessie
