Like me, I am sure you have watched the move of God that started in Asbury, KY sweep across the country and other universities. The movement began after a group of students refused to leave following a chapel service. They were hungry for God. God heard and acted. The Holy Spirit moved—God hears the cries of our hearts. God responds with His Holy presence and His Spirit’s power. You and I can have this same revival in our own hearts and lives. Revival can start with one person in a family and community. Are you a woman that is searching hard to know the work of God? Sometimes, we can complicate God’s will and work in our lives when all He wants from us is to believe in Him whom He has sent. In John 6:28 the question is asked, “What shall we do that we may work the works of God?” and Jesus answers, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him who He has sent.”
Once you believe in Christ, you will receive the Holy Spirit, “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” (John 14:16-17)
Yes, you can have a personal revival because of the Spirit that lives in you, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.” (1 Corinthians 2:12-13) Primarily, He wants us to believe in Him, the Bread of Life, who will lead us to daily satisfaction, personal revival, and eternal glory.
Who is this man, Jesus and what are we supposed to believe?
- He is the image of the invisible God – Colossians 1:15
- All things were created through Him – Colossians 1:16
- He is before ALL things – Colossians 1:17
- Head of the body, the church – Colossians 1:18
- Forgiver of sins; He presents you before Him – HOLY, BLAMELESS and BEYOND REPROACH – Colossians 1:22
- You are complete in Christ – Colossians 1:28
- Treasures of Wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Jesus – Colossians 2:3
- The fullness of the Deity dwells in Jesus Christ – Colossians 2:9
Revival starts with believing in the Person, Jesus, and then allowing Him to work in and through your life. Let us place our focus on believing in Jesus and that God is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He can do, then watch for the glory of God to be revealed in ways far above anything you could imagine. Revival can start with you! A personal revival can quickly turn into a corporate revival when Christ is at the center of the focus. Or revival may just be you and God in the intimacy of your own heart and mind. No matter if it is corporate or personal, seeking and loving God is your highest goal.
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
